About player Peter
Wirth
At the age of six,
Peter started playing. He received thorough instruction
in classical guitar. At the age of thirteen, he started
dedicating himself to Flamenco guitar.
At 14 he went to
Les Saintes Maries de la Mer in France and at the age
of 15 he travelled on his own to Spain to live among the
gipsies of the sacromonte of Granada.
One year later he
travelled to Jerez, Cádiz, Lebríja, Ronda,
and Utrera. Back in Germany, he developed into a passionate
Flamenco-Player.
At 20 he had his
first television appearance together with Charly Rivel
and Joachim Fuchsberger. Shortly after, his Solo-Album
Peter Wirth Mi guitarra flamenca appeared.
Peter Wirths Music was played in Television and
Radio.
An issue of the
radio programme Saludos Amigos was dedicated
to Peter Wirth. Wirth played with Spanish Flamenco artists
and he was asked repeatedly to play for the fiestas of
the Spanish colony at Munich. He also appeared together
with renowned artists like Nina Corti, Los Reyes, Lailo
and Antonio Vargas.
He played in the
German Theatre at Munich, the Instituto Cervantes and
at the Promotion Party for dancer Joaquin Cortés.
Apart from his tours, Peter Wirth had time for interviews,
television appearences and recording.
